Heather Zises is a cultural producer with 15 years of experience in curation, writing and public relations.
Heather specializes in contemporary art with a particular interest in feminist and identity-based practices. Having launched her career at Pace Gallery and Phillips, her projects include collaborations with Paddle8, Equity Gallery, Cluster Gallery, SCOPE Art Show, Art Index TV, Grey Area and FXCollaborative. She curated numerous exhibitions and site-specific installations at galleries, alternative spaces and art fairs worldwide.
Heather is co-editor of the award winning book 50 Contemporary Women Artists (Schiffer 2018) and is a contributing writer and art editor for diverse publications, including Quiet Lunch, Whitehot Magazine, Fjords Review and Pregame Magazine.
Heather is also a founding member of Ninth Street Collective, a group of art administrators who focus on professional development for artists. Heather sits on the Advisory Board for Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, NY and is on the Board of Directors for The Nouveau Classical Project, a nonprofit that blends contemporary classical music with art and avant-garde fashion. Raised in Boston as a ballerina, Heather graduated from Cornell University with a BA in English and Dance, and has an MA in Art History and Connoisseurship from Christie’s Education.
