Born in Wels, Austria, Marielis Seyler studied photography at the Academy of Graphic Arts in Vienna, Austria. She worked as a photographer in a highly-acclaimed advertising firm in Munich, Germany before traveling extensively—working as a freelance photographer in Barcelona, Paris, Cologne, and Munich.
While living in Tokyo, Japan, Seyler had her first exhibition, and then became a visiting student at the Vienna Academy. Currently, Seyler lives and works near Vienna.
Her International solo exhibitions include shows at Gallery Exner, Vienna/Austria; Arte Bologna, Bologna/Italy; Apicella Gallery Cologne, Germany; Galerie Charles de Rose Paris, France; Vernon Gallery Prague, Czech Republic; SOHO20Chelsea, New York, USA; Gallery Man Reykjavik, Iceland; a retrospective at the National Gallery Prague, Czech Republic and a project with the Museum Ludwig Cologne, Germany.
